It has been awhile ...

I used to think that it was a "bad" thing if I didn't post everyday ... but lately I just haven't needed it. I haven't need it as a way to vent ... or I way to share ... or a way to remember ... I guess that could mean I have truly grown. I used to rely on this thing throughout high school. I would write about when I was really thrilled, write indirectly to the people who pissed me off, and put some play-by-plays in so that one day I would look back and never forget ... well here is a quick update ... just of old times sake

Dance team tryouts are in a couple weeks ... I am really excited and I think I am 98% sure I will try out again

I think a lot of times when we speak we forget the consequences of our words. Things said at 3am seem blurry at 3 in the afternoon. You try and recreate the conversation, but as hard as you try you can not humanly contemplate what was spoken. So you are left sitting there in a state of confusion and then you may swing on over to a field of regret… you wonder why you said it and then wonder if you should take it back. Then and only then do you realize that even if it scares the hell out of you now … at 3am you only said what you felt … and that is it. Nothing else really matters … That moment in time stands still … you cannot go back and change it … you cannot amend and enhance it … you realize that even if you could, you wouldn’t want to. There are some things in life that are worth just leaving as they are. Life’s best moments are those that are unplanned… they are the events that you couldn’t recreate if you tried. I have come to realize that the curve balls life throws at you are the best pitches to swing at. They are the most challenging … the most deceiving … the most frightening … but they are the hits that go the furthest and the ones that travel to the most random places … and you cannot get to those places by playing it safe … God brings people into your life for a reason … people shape you and force you to grow … they stretch you and hurt you … and then they lift you up and carry you … Sometimes we are so concerned with what the future may have in store that we miss the overwhelming gifts of today … we can lose sight of the fact that maybe, just maybe, we have everything we need … and that the future lies in the present … The rich man with everything has the same problem as the poor man with nothing … neither of them know what to do ---

written by me in august ... still sooo true :)

Wow ... sorry, it is all I can think to say ... Life is just so ... "wow" ...

I am not sure if I am attacking a positive or negative connotation to the word, but either way, I stand in awe ...

I stand in awe of how radically different I am ... and how much I have completely and utterly changed. For the better? Probally not, to be honest, I was better then. I am not some horrible person now ... but I am just not the same person. But honestly how can someone be the same when they are in a new town, a new school ... when they have new friends, a new team, new organizations, new classes ... when they have a different car, a different clothing line ... when they have different rules, different expectations ...

High School

College

I think the moral of the story is that you can be happy with two different stories and being two different people and have two different lists ... but both resulting in the same huge smile while writing them ...

Bah, not sure why I actually blog anymore, my days of deep thoughts and informative posts are a thing of the past. I guess I do it out of mere procrastination and the fact that I think I get some joy knowing it is fuel to your (yeah you reading this right now) procrastination as well. I know I am a star player in AIM profile link clicking, I don't have to know you and more than likely you are the suckiest writer on this planet, but for some reason I think your pathetic xanga is more time worthy than the sonnets of Mr. William Shakespeare. It is sad when you come right down to it. I click picture links too ... yep, don't know you, and I look at your pictures ... now are you going "lil creepy" ... you do it too so can it ... When it comes down to it you put those links in your profile so all people (friends and non) and take a click at it ... yeah and then you put the imchaos link on it ... review your list and say "woah 23 people view my pictures" and smile to yourself because I think in some dictionary that makes you cool. I once had a friend who would IM the random screennames whom clicked her link inquiring "Who are you?" and then saying to the mystery clicker "you have way to much free time if you are just looking at random ppls photos" ... this girl, we will call her Sue, mainly because sue is so cliche when thinking fake names .... anyhow Sue had an issue, clearly she was the one with too much free time, no friends, and a pathetic excuse for a life ... so sue you suck

I know I should not criticize the way folks write their blogs ... honestly its all you ... but as a fatal attempt for a plee and as a concerned person who wishes to be entertained during procrastination time, stop with the name listing! .... I feel like when I read 'So I hung out with matt and then we met up with lizzie and I sat by Trey, John, Smtih, Mike, and Tim at the movies. And sarah and mel and then this girl Tracy are amazing ... etc' i want to hit you ----- So yes name listing, I feel like people think that with each new name they get a cool point, but no you are wrong. I personally award you none ... great you have friends, congrats, here is a virtual cookie, now stop bragging about it ... Oh and don't even make some comeback like "Its so when I am 50 I can look back and remember yadda yadda ..." You would like to think that is your reason, but really it is a "cool point" game and you wish to be the MVP ...

Nextly, I shall quickly address facebook and myspace worlds ... Okay don't throw rocks at me, but myspace is a pathetic excuse for people who are not in college to mend their "facebook rejection" wounds, myspace is NOT cool... yeah okay maybe that is below the belt, but get in an accredited university and I guarantee you wont be consuming your life with the creepy folk of myspace ... (Note:I do have a myspace account, but I was bored, and I never said I was cool AND i am in an accredited university and a proud member of the facebook cult) ... so facebook ... pure beauty in a dot com ... enough said, if you dont have it, YES you should feel left out and more than likely you DO suck at life

Now, lets all join hands and sing a worthy hymn for google.com and ebay.com ....

google picture search, yes we all have typed in our name to see what flys up, or googled Janice Cook and then made her the back drop of our computer, dont lie ... you did it in high school too ... Or we google the Telf because we think maybe she had career in porn before her european history days ... google is glorious, dont front it

ebay ... another great tool in life ... I recently bid on 45 adam brody buttons ... what would I do with these? exactly .... that is why ebay is amazing ... I used to buy bottle caps off ebay ... why? exactly ....

Finally, i need to take the time and give a little bow to the folk who actually go to the web-pages and type in the codes to see if they won that chance at a trip to vegas off of the cheeseits box ... you my friend = grand procrastination master ... you are offically invited to the club (yes there is a handshake) ... Story time: recently I typed in a Dr. Pepper code online ... and guess what, I won ... thats right 100$ to sony ... so yeah i am bragging, but I like to think of it more as a Jared, Subway commercial brag ... it is motivational, not cocky, and gives hope ... plus it makes me a total badass in the process ... win-win-WIN situation ...

Okay ... thats it, hope I helped you not study for that test and not read that book .... hope you smiled at least once and hope you dont hate me bc its all in good fun, I love you all, goodnight!

But when you're broken down and no one else is around
You'll come running back to this town and I'll be there, yeah I'll be there
Cause I remember how we drank time together

And how you used to say that the stars are forever
And daydreamed about how to make your life better
By leaving town, leaving town

Well this weekend was okay. First of all it is FREEZING here ... like (to me) SO COLD! Missing the random 70 degree winter days of Texas. Friday night was our DDD Pledge retreat, which was fun. Saturday I spent part of the day sleeping, the other part dealing with (yet not resolving) my busted car, and the final part being sick and not going out but rather watching Goodwill Hunting (I'd never seen it, quite good) ... Today consists of some homework, dying kristin and emilys hair(turned out so good) and dance team practice ...

I have an interview on Wednesday to work at Kanakuk summer camp ... Not sure if I will go through with it, but I think it would be a really good experience and a great way to make a difference ... We will see.

So classes are going good ... I really like them a lot actually and I have had a lot less work so far this semester, which is amazing.

haha this made me laugh ... I pulled it out of a past blog ... for those of you who went to high school with me this is definitely in the "classic" section for those of you who didn't then this story is probally not funny at all .... enjoy

My brother is all making Easy Mac and Cheese in the kitchen. Ditto enters. Kevin puts the bowl in the microwave. She lets out an abnoxious "NOOOOOOOOOO". He goes "?". She goes "MIIIKKEEEE". My dad enters. Ditto removes the bowl from the microwave and states this bowl is not microwavable. She then procedes to tell my brother he is paying for the damages the bowl may of caused. My dad lifts the bowl without a word and clearly displays the letters under the bowl reading "MICROWAVABLE". Ditto goes "Well ... well I read an article in ... in ... " Kevin goes "In in in where". She quickly goes to the pantry removes the identical remaining 5 bowls in the set identical to the one Kevin was using and throws them away. She did this dramatically by the way (letting out several distressed noises). My dad rolls his eyes, my brother mumbles something rude under his breath. Ditto lets out a stressed "Ugh, you people know nothing!" and leaves the scene.

leave a comment and let me know how you are doing ...
